WHO CAN
ATTEND & HOW TO ENROLL
Eligibility
Summer Session has an open enrollment policy. Therefore, any person over 18 years of age may attend, unless barred from enrollment during the regular year for disciplinary or financial (such as delinquent loan payments) reasons. UCSC students barred for academic reasons may attend to improve your standing. Those UCSC students on academic probation are eligible to take summer courses to improve their academic standing. Attendance in Summer Session does not reduce the number of quarters a student may attend UCSC within the four-year, twelve-quarter limit.
High School Students
High school students who will be Juniors or Seniors in fall 2010 may register for introductory, lower-division Summer Session courses with the submission of the regular online application and a special verification form (requiring the high school seal). This form also requires the high school administration to list the cumulative GPA, and affirm completion of the sophomore or junior year. Forms available to download here beginning March 29.
International Students (needing Visas)
Please see the information under
Application.
Senior Audit Program
Community members who will be at least 55 years old by June 21, 2010, are eligible to purchase a Senior Audit Card for $25, which will enable them to audit many UCSC Summer Session courses for free with the consent of the instructor. Please see detailed information under Special Programs. Complete applications must be received at least one week before the start of the session.
HOW TO ENROLL
Enrollment for EVERYONE begins April 19, 2009 at my.ucsc.edu (with no enrollment appointments or priority enrollment)
Because Summer Session enrollment is open, all registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Classes with limited enrollment may close early. Please enroll as soon as possible in order to ensure your place in class. Also note that if you are taking courses in both sessions, you need only enroll for the first session and may add the other courses later at my.ucsc.edu.
